One “chore” that I really love to do is shopping for my (semi-)weekly groceries! For me it’s more of a fun trip than something I “have” to do. I like making lists and I like (roughly) planning what I’m going to eat – even though it sometimes takes a lot of thought -, it’s just exciting to think of all the healthy options that are out there! So I decided I wanted to show you what I buy on an average shopping trip. It varies every week, but this is basically what I always have at home. Food: my story
This is something I haven’t ever really mentioned on my blog before, but since I’ve been eating (a lot) healthier and I want to share my food+recipes with you guys, I think it’s about time I tell you “my story”. Let’s just get into it! ;)
For the first 14/15 years of my life I was really allergic to a lot of foods: sugar from beets, potatoes, peanuts, carrots, mushrooms, ginger, milk (from cows) and basically any veggie that grows under the ground. Quite a lot, huh? If I would eat any of the “bad stuff” I would get terrible stomach aches. Until I was about 15 I never ate anything with sugar (except sometimes cane sugar, because my stomach could handle that kind of sugar) and I was about the only kid who’d never had fries before. I basically had to bring my own food to everything. :)
2013, here we are!
First of all: Happy New Year! I know I’m a few days late, but hey, it’s still the beginning of the year right? Hope your New Year’s Eve was fabulous! Mine was! Celebrating New Year’s outside in just a dress (no coat, no leggings…), with new friends, on Curaçao… it was really, really great. Last year I would have never thought that this would be the way I’d enter the new year!
3 tiny changes
Inmiddels alweer meer dan een jaar geleden besloot ik een aantal kleine dingetjes op een rij te zetten die ik wilde veranderen/waar ik aan wilde werken. Toch blijft het moeilijk hoor, hoe klein zo’n verandering ook is! Het vereist eigenlijk toch een verandering in gewoonte(s), en dat gaat nu eenmaal niet zo snel. In ieder geval niet zo snel als ik vaak hoopte… ;) Het is een kwestie van wennen en volhouden & uiteindelijk maak je het je eigen en voor je het weet is het een gewoonte! Anyhow, in het vervolg van mijn vorige tiny changes, hierbij een nieuw lijstje met dingetjes waar ik op ga letten!
